Better than Yosemite! Camp with the Giants in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.
Explore the Giant
Sequoia Groves of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.
Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks are equally accessible to
both southern California and the Bay Area.
Stay at Grant Grove - Kings Canyon National Park
Camp within a
quarter mile of the big trees! It's only a short stroll from our
outdoor learning site
camping area to the General Grant Tree - our nation's Christmas
tree. Wildlife and wildflowers are abundant. We are close to the
newly redesigned Grant Grove visitor center with state-of-the-art
displays.
 |
Grant Grove is a
perfect destination to learn about Giant Sequoias and
mid-elevation conifer forests. It is also strategically located
to explore the rest of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks:
Lodgepole and the Tokapah Valley, Giant Forest, foothill
forests and grasslands and a vast backcountry wilderness of
rivers, lakes and far distant views. |
Stay at Lodgepole
- Sequoia National Park
Located at the
entrance to a dramatically carved glacial canyon, our Lodgepole
camping area is wonderfully situated to take advantage of all
the best Sequoia & Kings Canyon have to offer: waterfalls, a
pristine mountain river and the Sequoias of Giant Forest.
|
 |
|
Some
activities in the Lodgepole area include:
* a short walk to Tokapah
Falls below the majestic Watchtower.
* an excursion to Crystal
Cave [automobile shuttle required].
* visiting the General
Sherman Tree.
* exploring 40 miles of
trails in the Giant Forest.
Lodgepole is the perfect
place to complement your school's educational or retreat
objectives. |

Located in Giant Forest is Moro Rock. A 1/4 mile trail leads
to the top and fantastic views into the backcountry
wilderness along the Great Western Divide.
Come to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks and see for
yourselves what wonderful and special places they are.
Though close to southern California and the Bay Area, the
Parks are nowhere near as busy as Yosemite and other popular
national parks or national forests |
 |
| |
|
Sequoia & Kings Canyon are
also great places for seeing wildlife. Deer, black bear and
marmots are frequently seen along with many different
species of birds.
