DESIGNING YOUR
PROGRAM
One of the first
things you receive from us is a "Goals Questionnaire." With your
input, we use this
to begin our design process. It allows us to determine the
following:
Lodging
|
Choose tent camping in private campgrounds, State or
National Parks. You
can also utilize our
Lodge-Based sites with either dormitories, semi-private
cabins with central baths or semi-private cabins with
baths that are private. |
|
 |
Meals
Location
|
Influence the price by selecting a site closer to your
school.
Naturalists at Large has
sites convenient to both Southern California and Bay Area
schools.
Save time and money on your
transportation costs. |
|
 |
Program Options
|
Along with our outdoor education programs we offer a variety
of options to enhance your Naturalists at Large experience.
Depending on the site, these include rock climbing,
challenge courses, sea kayaking, canoeing and whitewater
rafting. |
 |
|
 |
|
Also, we can take you snorkeling, backpacking, on off-site tours, Nordic skiing
and snowshoeing. We'll help you choose what's
best for your school. Call us! |
Trip Duration
Schools choose
from overnight to weeklong trips.
Staffing Ratio
 |
|
Schools have found the best ratio of
naturalists to students is 12:1 with one faculty member or
school chaperone.
You can elect to increase
or decrease this ratio by the number of adult chaperones
that you bring.
Occasionally we are
restricted at a site to a specific ratio.
